The Christmas Miscellany 2021

Here at GTN we have been getting in the festive spirit and have once again produced our Christmas Miscellany. The special edition will include festive excerpts from our wonderful team, and Ziggy, Gloucestershire’s poet laureate who we hope will pop in and record one of his own poems.

It has once again been a rather eventful year. Starting January 2021 in lockdown was certainly not what many of us hoped for as we waved goodbye to 2020 and ushered in a new year where the nightmare of Covid-19 would be a thing of the past.

However, the summer was certainly a lot brighter with the relaxation of many restrictions and the almost return to normal life.

Many people got to do things that they had not been able to do thanks to Covid in 2020 – attending weddings, anniversaries, and even going on holiday!

All of a sudden it’s Christmas time, and next week many of us will be tucking in to mince pies, turkey and all the trimmings, and will be spending time with those we love. We hope this year will be a real chance to celebrate in whatever way you can and that you have the most wonderful time.

We hope our special Christmas episodes will provide the perfect accompaniment to the festive season – perhaps acting as post-Christmas dinner entertainment!

Thanks to Wotton under Edge Dramatic Society and Cotswold Vale Talking Newspaper for providing us with a copy of A Christmas Carol to share with the recordings. If you would like to listen again, we have included it below.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and wonderful new year!
